Leaders of the Campeonato Brasileiro, Palmeiras split the group. Players who logged more than 45 minutes followed a recovery schedule at the hotel with core work, physiotherapy, massage and pool sessions. The rest trained on passing, marking and small-sided games.

In physical reconditioning, Paulinho took part in part of the session with the group. Vitor Roque continued an individual plan, working separately on the pitch. Both are being eased back after recent fitness issues.

Forward Luighi, a standout in the win over Bahia, spoke about taking his chances. He said he trains hard every day in the gym, with physios and on the pitch, aims to be ready and stay calm, and to help the team whether protecting a lead or chasing a turnaround, which he sees as part of Palmeiras’ identity since the academy.

Palmeiras head into the continental opener with 18 wins in 25 Libertadores debuts, plus four draws and three defeats. Away from home they have played 15 such matches, winning nine, drawing four and losing two.
