Barcelona’s third and final pre-season game of the Asia tour kicks off tomorrow and will see the reigning Spanish champions lock horns with Daegu FC.

Their opponents on the night have suffered a horrendous season so far and sit dead last on the domestic standings with just 14 points in 24 games in the South Korean league.

The fact that the next lowest placed team has close to double the points puts their form into perspective. Given that Barcelona put seven goals past fourth-placed Seoul, matters could get ugly tomorrow.

Barcelona’s clash against Daegu, thus, will not be one for a competitive matchup but an opportunity to test out new ideas – something Flick will be itching to do as the start of the new season approaches.

Barça Universal brings you the lineups the manager can consider on the night for both halves independently.

First half

Joan Garcia has shown good shot-stopping and impressive distribution in his first two games for Barcelona and is likely to retain the starting spot for the first half of Barcelona’s final game on tour in Asia.

Inigo Martinez’s discomfort forced the manager to pair Pau Cubarsi with Ronald Araujo against FC Seoul, and in the process, ended up testing a new combination.

Tomorrow, the coach could look to continue the same and test the Andreas Christensen-Cubarsi combination.

Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde, meanwhile, will likely persist as the full-backs for the first half.

Pedri has been a mainstay in Hansi Flick’s first-half lineup in both games so far and will likely continue in his role against FC Daegu.

Joining him in the pivot will likely be Marc Casado, who has been linked with an exit in recent days. Dani Olmo is expected to complete the midfield playing in the mediapunta position.

All signs point to Lamine Yamal and Raphinha retaining their position in the first half, playing on the two flanks. Ferran Torres may start in the number 9 position, especially after it came to light that he is the manager’s preferred player in the position.

Second half

Changes in the second half will be done at wholesale measure and will start from the goal where Wojciech Szczesny will replace the new signing.

Ronald Araujo and Gerard Martin can take over duties in central defence, especially after Martinez has been ruled out of the game.

Eric Garcia is expected to return at right-back after missing the previous game and Jofre Torrents will take over at left-back.

Frenkie de Jong and Gavi will likely spearhead the midfield on the night, and the spotlight will shine bright on the latter after his impressive display against Seoul.

The third place in midfield, however, is one where Flick must make a choice. With Fermin Lopez injured, Toni Fernandez and Pedro Fernandez could share duties in the position in the second half.

Roony Bardghji and Marcus Rashford will likely play the entire 45 minutes in the second half on the right and left flanks, respectively. Robert Lewandowski, at centre-forward, will complete the lineup.
