Pedro fronts Flamengo fan campaign to design new Manto da Nação shirt

Flamengo have launched Manto da Nação, inviting supporters to design an official limited edition shirt. The marketing push included a cryptic Instagram post from Pedro that briefly alarmed fans before revealing the contest.
The club said in a statement that the competition has three stages, starting with design submissions, then a shortlist of 10, and finally an online fan vote to pick the winner. Submissions run from 14 July to 9 August.
The winning designer will receive R$ 10,000 and a shirt featuring their work. Other finalists will also receive a unit. The shirt will be sold in an exclusive pre-order window from 1 to 8 September.
Shortlisting is scheduled for 10 to 16 August, voting for 17 to 30 August, with the result on 1 September. Manufacturing begins from 9 September, and deliveries are due to start in December.
Entries are open to fans aged 18 or over via mantodanacao.flamengo.com.br, with proposals submitted as a PDF up to 20 MB and a concept explanation. Designs should reflect Flamengo’s identity, history and symbols.
The initiative mirrors Atlético-MG’s Manto da Massa, which has had five editions produced since 2020.
