Pedro ‘to contest’ Brazil World Cup spot with Andrey and Rayan

The CBF will publish the 26-man Brazil squad on 18 May. Carlo Ancelotti has doubts over one place as the list is finalised.

UOL reports that Pedro is competing with Andrey, formerly of Vasco and now at Chelsea, and Rayan, another ex-Vasco now at Bournemouth, for that slot.

The announcement will be staged at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, with figures from past generations and the current squad attending.

Pedro has enjoyed a positive campaign for Flamengo, with 27 appearances in 2026, 16 goals and four assists.

Brazil open their World Cup campaign on 13 June against Morocco. Ancelotti’s side then face Haiti before finishing the group against Scotland.
