Gasperini granted the team a day of rest yesterday, a useful way to recharge and process a painful defeat.

The team returns to action today, focusing on Thursday night’s trip to Scotland against Rangers.

As expected, Dybala, Ferguson, and Angelino will be unavailable; Baldanzi and Vasquez are also out, training but remaining excluded from the UEFA squad.

The coach will inevitably have to consider alternatives to the eleven he’s used in the league in recent weeks.

As reported in Corriere dello Sport, there will therefore be room for some rotation, allowing players who are constantly busy (and also expected to return to their national teams) to rest.

Two main candidates for rest are Koné and Mancini, both possible substitutes.

In midfield, Cristante could return to occupy the midfield alongside El Aynaoui, while in the attacking midfield there would be a chance for Pellegrini who is likely to replace Dybala up front.
