Guardiola stands up to Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Pep Guardiola sharply rebukes Sir Jim Ratcliffe
Pep Guardiola delivered a powerful plea in favor of multiculturalism, responding to the controversial remarks of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, who claimed that the United Kingdom had been "colonized" by immigrants. Ratcliffe's comments sparked a wave of outrage, drawing responses from Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, and prompting the English FA to continue investigating the matter.
"I have a lot of respect for Sir Jim, I’ve had the chance to meet him. I believe he later issued a statement apologizing. I won’t comment on what he said… but all over the world, immigrants or those who come from another country are treated as if they are the problem in our societies. And that’s a very, very big problem."
Guardiola continued:
"The fact that I am Catalan and you are British… what influence did we have over where we were born? That was up to our parents, wasn’t it? Everyone wants a better life, a better future for themselves and their families. (…) Skin color or birthplace makes no difference. (…) Most people flee their countries because of the problems they face there. The more we embrace other cultures, truly, the better we can become. It will be a better society, I have no doubt."
