Pep Guardiola is understood to have asked Manchester City to assess a possible move for Benfica right-back Amar Dedić.
According to Sport, Dedić is on Manchester City's wishlist and the club have made an enquiry, though no formal offer has been submitted.
His profile is considered a good fit for Guardiola, but there have been no concrete developments and no figures are known.
If a deal materialises, Dedić would be the latest Benfica player to join the club that has dominated the Premier League. City have already had Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias and Ederson, with the latter now representing Fenerbahçe.
This season Dedić, valued at 15 million euros, has played 28 competitive matches for Benfica, 14 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
Across 2,368 minutes he has scored one goal and provided three assists. He wears the number 17 shirt.
