Physiotherapist Laura López has been targeted with sexist abuse after her appointment by Calamocha was announced on X. According to Superdeporte, the club’s post prompted a wave of remarks focused on her appearance.

The harassment then reached her directly, with hundreds of personal messages arriving since the post. López says she feels overwhelmed and wants the episode to pass.

She says she loves her profession and finds it difficult to be judged rather than treated as just another colleague. It is not the first time she has had to hear obscene comments.

López adds that progress is being made but believes much still needs to change. Despite several unpleasant incidents and the renewed attention, the Zaragoza native is not considering leaving sport.

Calamocha has removed the announcement post. The story has spread across other X accounts and the comments continue.
