Football League World takes a look at how much each club in the Championship are charging for a pint this season.

The 2024/25 Championship campaign has been one of incredible interest, and with the fight for automatic promotion, play-offs and relegation still undecided, the final weeks of the season are sure to be exciting.

Once again, the second tier has thrown up plenty of drama, with the likes of Leeds United, Sheffield United and Burnley all battling it out at the very top of the league, while more than six clubs are involved in the scrap to stay in the division at the other end.

While nothing is conclusive in terms of the league standings yet, Football League World has taken a look at a table of another variety and has ranked each Championship club from 24th to first in terms of the price of a pint of beer, with 24th being the most expensive and first being the cheapest.

24 Leeds United - £5

Leeds currently have the most expensive pint in the second tier, with the Whites charging £5 at Elland Road.

The West Yorkshire outfit do have the second-highest average attendance in the division and it is clear to see that the hierarchy at the club are looking to capitalise on that. Nevertheless, supporters are being rewarded with a promotion battle, which will surely sweeten the blow that may be suffered in the concourses.

23 QPR - £4.60

Next on the list is West London's Queens Park Rangers, who charge supporters £4.60 for a pint at Loftus Road.

The R's are one of just two clubs from England's capital in the Championship this season, and as is usually the case with London, prices are slightly inflated.

22 Cardiff City - £4.30

Occupying the final relegation place in this list, Cardiff City have the third most expensive pint in the Championship, with is costing spectators £4.30 to have a beer at the Cardiff City Stadium.

It has not been a season to remember for the Bluebirds, and with safety still not guaranteed, supporters will be hoping that a strong end to the campaign will ensure that they do not drop into the third tier for the first time since 2003.

21 Derby County £4.20

Another side in danger of dropping into League One, Derby County, are 21st in this particular table, with the Rams charging £4.20 for a pint at Pride Park Stadium.

John Eustace's arrival at DE24 has seen an upturn in form for the East Midlands outfit after a dismal start to 2025, and he will be hoping that the good times can continue to ensure that his side are playing in the Championship once again next season.

20 Sunderland - £4.10

Sunderland spent the majority of the campaign involved in the fight for a top finish, but a poor run of form has seen the Black Cats left behind by those above them and they look set to finish fourth in the Championship this season.

Regis Le Bris' team are playing in front of the highest average attendance in the league at the Stadium of Light, and the owners have capitalised on this by charging the fifth most expensive pint in the second tier at £4.10.

19 Bristol City - £3.95

Bristol City are perhaps most well known for the sale of cider at Ashton Gate over their sale of beer, and it costs a supporter £3.95 for a pint at the Robins' home, and they are the first club to be under the £4 mark in this list.

Liam Manning has an excellent opportunity to take his side to the play-offs this season, and a top six finish would go down extremely well in the south-west as they look to make their long-awaited return to the top flight.

18 Swansea City - £3.90

The second of the two Welsh clubs in the Championship, Swansea City, charge £3.90 for a pint at the Swansea.com Stadium.

It's been a season that never truly got going for the Swans, and there will be hopes that 2025/26 can be the year that they finally end their seven-year stay in the second tier.

Hull City are next up on the list, and join Swansea in charging those who visit the MKM Stadium £3.90 for a pint.

The Tigers have started to finally push away from the drop zone after a tough start to the season, and hopes are high that Ruben Selles has finally got his feet under the table in Humberside after coming so close to a play-off finish in 2023/24.

16 West Bromwich Albion - £3.60

The first significant drop in price in this particular set of standings, West Bromwich Albion shave 30p off the Tigers' price with a pint costing £3.60 at The Hawthorns.

With Tony Mowbray back in charge of the Baggies, there are hopes that he can repeat his 2008 promotion with the club and take them back to the Premier League for the first time in four years.

15 Stoke City - £3.60

There are numerous clubs on this list that charge £3.60 for a pint of beer, and Stoke City are another.

The bet365 Stadium has not quite been the same safe haven this season as it has been in the past, and Mark Robins has a huge job on his hands to ensure that the Potters do not drop into League One at the end of the campaign.

14 Preston North End - £3.60

Preston North End line up next in this table, with it also costing £3.60 for a pint at Deepdale this season.

The Lilywhites have had a rollercoaster of a year, with their impressive FA Cup run taking the plaudits while they have been able to stabilise in the Championship under Paul Heckingbottom following Ryan Lowe leaving the club after the first game of the campaign.

13 Middlesbrough - £3.60

Middlesbrough sit halfway in this table, and they are the fourth Championship club to charge £3.60 for a pint this season at the Riverside Stadium.

Michael Carrick has found consistency hard to come by in 2024/25, but there is still a chance that Boro end the campaign in the top six for the second time in three years.

12 Coventry City - £3.60

Coventry City and the fifth and final club to put their pint prices at £3.60, with the CBS Arena rocking once again under Frank Lampard after a tough start to the season.

What had once looked to be a year to forget for the Sky Blues has quickly turned into one where they have a very real chance of making that final step back to the Premier League, two years after losing in the play-off final.

11 Blackburn Rovers - £3.50

Blackburn Rovers come in at 10th, with is costing £3.50 for a pint at Ewood Park this season. However, they are one of nine clubs to charge the same price, and actually sit joint second in this table.

Valerien Ismael is now in charge of Rovers after Eustace made the switch from Lancashire to Derbyshire in February, but life in BB2 has not got off to the best of starts for the Frenchman.

Oxford United are the next Championship club to charge £3.50 for a beer, with the Kassam Stadium one of the most intriguing grounds in the division due to the fact it has just three stands.

Gary Rowett is looking to keep the U's in the second tier following promotion from League One last season, and it looks as though it will go to the wire.

9 Norwich City - £3.50

Norwich City are next up in this list, with £3.50 needed to buy a pint at Carrow Road. The area is well-known for its pub culture, with the old adage going that there are 365 pubs in the city, one for each day of the year.

On the pitch, it has been an inconsistent year for the club and Johannes Hoff Thorup will be hoping that 2025/26 proves to be more successful for the Canaries.

Few expected Luton Town to be involved in a Championship relegation battle after playing in the Premier League just last season, but that is where Matt Bloomfield's team have found themselves.

Nevertheless, supporters do have the pleasure of having one of the cheapest pints in the division, with is also costing £3.50 for a beer at Kenilworth Road.

7 Millwall - £3.50

The second of the two London clubs on this list, Millwall find themselves a lot further up the table compared to QPR, charging just £3.50 for a pint at The Den.

Alex Neil has been able to stabilise the Lions after a rather up-and-down campaign and they look set to finish mid-table, and they will be looking to close the gap to the play-off places next season.

The most southern club in the division, Plymouth Argyle, join a host of clubs who charge just £3.50 for a pint.

Home Park has an incredible atmosphere at times, but it has not been the easiest of seasons at all for the Devonshire outfit and a return to League One after two years in the Championship looks to be all but confirmed.

One of the most iconic stadiums in the EFL, it will cost you £3.50 to get a pint at Portsmouth's Fratton Park.

Pompey have had a strong first year back in the second tier, and after a dismal start to the campaign, John Mousinho's side are starting to look a lot more like the one that won promotion from League One in 2023/24.
