Pisilli anticipates ‘very tough’ return leg vs Athletic Bilbao | OneFootball

Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli was asked about the return leg with Athletic Bilbao.

Following Roma’s 2-1 win in the first leg at Stadio Olimpico, Pisilli spoke to reporters about the upcoming rematch at San Mames in Bilbao.

“I expect a match like today’s, very tough and complicated,” he said.

“Today we played like us but they played their game showing their value and we ours. We have to be good at not being influenced by this match and play it to the best of our ability.”

“Did I expect to play from the start? I always try to give my best in training, then the coach makes his choices and tells us on the day of the match.”

“Sometimes I play, sometimes I don’t, I can’t tell you yes or no honestly. I don’t think about it too much, I try to be ready when he calls me into play.”

“Our ambitions? It’s too early to say, there’s the return match to play and then the whole journey, which however passes through the return match. The most important is always the next one, if you don’t win it you don’t go forward.”
