At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus and Lazio shared the spoils at the end of a thrilling contest that both sides felt they should have won.

Just before the half-time whistle, Pedro scored the opener against the run of play, while Gustav Isaksen finished off a swift counter-attack to make it 2-0 after the interval. However, the Bianconeri were determined to avoid a second defeat in three days, so they managed to score two headers, the first from Weston McKennie, and the second through Pierre Kalulu in the dying embers of the match.

Here are our player ratings for Lazio, who dropped two points after squandering a two-goal lead against Juventus.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 7.5

The Italian custodian was sensational once more, frustrating Kenan Yildiz with a series of jaw-dropping saves. He also denied Gleison Bremer and Edon Zhegrova, but couldn’t do anything about the goals.

Adam Marusic – 6

The Montenegrin had a long night as he tried to grab a hold of Yildiz, but he didn’t disgrace himself against arguably the worst opponent a Serie A defender could draw.

Mario Gila – 6

A mixed bag from the Spaniard, who made some crucial interventions, but lost McKennie on Juve’s first goal, and also mistimed the bounce of the ball on another occasion that could have been costly.

Oliver Provstgaard – 6.5

A solid evening from the young Dane, who was happy to put himself in harm’s way on several occasions. Blocked a low drive from Kalulu that was heading goalwards.

Nuno Tavares – 6.5

The Portuguese left-back isn’t renowned for his defensive prowess, but he kept Andrea Cambiaso and Zhegrova relatively quiet, and pulled off a miraculous sliding tackle to deny Bremer from point-blank range. He also led a few counterattacks and should have got an assist for his efforts.

Toma Basic – 5.5

The Croatian was second best to Khephren Thuram in their duel. He was suffering from an injury in the final minutes of the first half, but gritted his teeth to remain on the pitch until the interval.

Danilo Cataldi – 6.5

The Lazio veteran produced an astonishing inch-perfect long ball, which served as the assist for Isaksen’s goal

Kenneth Taylor – 5.5

The Dutchman worked hard at the back, but saw little of the ball. He had the chance to score Lazio’s third, but couldn’t hit the target.

Gustav Isaksen – 6.5

The Danish winger delivered a second positive showing in as many weeks. He thought he had won the match for Lazio by scoring a superb second goal after outpacing Cambiaso and smashing his shot past Michele Di Gregorio with his supposedly weaker right foot.

Daniel Maldini – 7

The new Lazio signing was initially bullied by Bremer, but he gradually grew into the match, and eventually became a nuisance for the Brazilian defender. Picked up Locatelli’s pocket to set up Pedro’s goal.

Pedro – 6.5

The Spanish veteran didn’t see much of the ball, but netted the all-important opener for Lazio, taking full advantage of the deflection.

Substitutes

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – 5.5

The Nigerian replaced Basic after the interval, and immediately played a part in the second goal. However, his poor touch cost Lazio the golden opportunity to open a three-goal lead.

Tijjani Noslin – 5

Another substitute who squandered an easy chance to kill the game, as he sent a wayward shot from close range in a 3-v-2 attack.

Matteo Cancellieri – 6

The winger tracked back to help Marusic deal with Yildiz, and managed to dispossess the Turk on two occasions. However, he couldn’t block Jeremie Boga’s assist for Kalulu’s equalizer.

Alessio Romagnoli – 5.5

The returning Lazio stalwart didn’t look too comfortable in his cameo. Picked up a swift yellow card for blocking Boga’s run.

Patric – N/A
