Tottenham Hotspur produced a composed and clinical display to beat Everton 3-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, a result that lifts Thomas Frank’s side into third place in the Premier League table. Heavy rain and a spirited Everton effort did not derail Spurs, who looked assured for most of the afternoon and delivered a performance that supporters will hope becomes the blueprint away from home.
Micky van de Ven was the standout with two first half headers, both from corners, that gave Spurs an early platform. Everton, under David Moyes, applied pressure after the interval but could not find a breakthrough. Tottenham regained control when Pape Matar Sarr stepped off the bench to wrap up the scoring late on.
Tottenham Hotspur set the tone early, managing the wet conditions with composure and purpose. The first major turning point came when Guglielmo Vicario pulled off a stunning intervention to deny Beto’s overhead kick. It steadied Spurs and allowed them to settle into a rhythm.
Set pieces proved decisive. Pedro Porro’s delivery for Van de Ven’s second goal was described as a perfect corner, and with Rodrigo Bentancur showing great desire at the back post to assist the opener, Spurs maximised their dead ball work.
Everton responded after half time with greater aggression, sending numerous crosses into the area, but Tottenham’s centre backs dealt with the aerial threat superbly. The introduction of Sarr later helped Spurs regain midfield tempo and the substitute sealed the result with a confident headed finish following Richarlison’s assist.

Thomas Frank made subtle adjustments throughout, particularly in midfield where Joao Palhinha and Bentancur held their positions well to screen Everton’s forward runners. Mohammed Kudus carried an important creative burden and his set piece delivery continued to unsettle Everton.
Kevin Danso was a calming presence at the back, while Djed Spence endured a testing contest against Iliman Ndiaye before improving as the match progressed. Xavi Simons showed work rate in defensive transition but lacked cutting edge in the final third, still waiting for what many Spurs fans hope will be his transformative moment in a Tottenham shirt.
For Everton, there were flashes of promising movement and sustained pressure early in the second half. However, they could not convert territory into high quality chances and were undone by set pieces and a lack of precision in the penalty area.
