Things are not going well for Liam Rosenior at Chelsea at the moment, and there’s a sense that the new manager hasn’t convinced his dressing room that he’s the right choice for them.
Speaking on ESPN, Craig Burley outlined his thoughts on the new manager, whose quirky actions and words in press conferences have created a lot of raised eyebrows in the media and Blues fanbase. Burley thinks the players are in a similar situation.
“He [Liam Rosenior] seems to be forcing it. I’ve been in so many dressing rooms with changes of manager, if somebody comes in, not only by actions but by words…. 25 people, experienced players [will sense that]. Fraud is a strong word.
“But they will smell someone who is not ready, who shouldn’t be there. They will sniff that out in a heartbeat. I just feel, the weekend display backs this up – a lack of work rate, desire – players talk.”
There certainly was a horrific look to the team’s performance on Saturday – they weren’t played off the park, they just didn’t really fancy it, especially once they were a goal down.
Matt Law says that Chelsea are considering changing up their plan for Mike Penders given how badly things have gone in goal for them.
