Kylian Mbappé should not start as France’s central striker at the World Cup, according to an Odoxa poll for RTL and Winamax, with 61% of football fans preferring him either on the left or on the bench.
The survey polled 1,005 people, including 445 football fans. Among those fans, 25% want him on the left wing and 36% would have him start as a substitute.
Respondents also preferred N'Golo Kanté to partner Adrien Rabiot in midfield rather than Aurélien Tchouaméni.
France begin their campaign on Tuesday night against Senegal at 21:00. They then face Iraq on 22 June at 23:00 and Norway on 26 June at 21:00.
The tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July.
