Porto close on Souza after Benfica bid as talks with Tottenham advance, Santos hold sell-on

Porto have intensified their push to sign Tottenham left-back Souza, the former Santos prospect, according to Globo.com.
The Portuguese club have agreed terms with the player and are in advanced talks with Tottenham.
Souza, 20, has been on Porto’s radar since his youth days. In recent days they moved quickly to beat rivals Benfica, who have also offered 20 million euros to Tottenham for the full-back.
His representative, Giuliano Bertolucci, is in Portugal to negotiate the move. Souza wants regular football after making only four senior appearances for Tottenham in the 2025/26 season.
That search for minutes is tied to his aim of featuring for Brazil during the 2030 World Cup cycle.
Santos retain 10% of his next sale. At that price, the club would receive R$ 11.6 million.
He was the only Brazilian left-back nominated for the Golden Boy award, run by Italian site Tutto Sport.
Tottenham signed him in January, and he became their youngest Brazilian debutant on seven February 2026, coming on in the second half of a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, aged 19 years, seven months and 19 days.
