Tottenham’s injury woes continued as Dominic Solanke suffered a fresh setback during their 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League. The striker, making his return after seven weeks out with a knee injury, lasted less than 20 minutes before being forced off again.
Solanke was introduced late in the game as Ange Postecoglou’s side searched for an equaliser, but his comeback was short-lived. In stoppage time, he collided mid-air with Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro while challenging for a cross, landing heavily on his left side.

The forward immediately appeared in distress, clutching his side, and had to be replaced by Dane Scarlett. Helped off the pitch, Solanke’s latest setback adds to a season plagued by injuries for Spurs.
Speaking after the game, Postecoglou provided an update on Solanke’s condition: “We think it’s a knock, so hopefully nothing too bad. He’s a bit sore.”

While Spurs will be hoping for positive news, any further absence could prove costly, especially with their Europa League campaign now their last realistic shot at silverware. Having already been eliminated from both domestic cups and struggling in the Premier League, the pressure is mounting.
Spurs now face a crucial second leg at home, needing a far more incisive attacking display to keep their European hopes alive. Whether Solanke will be available for that encounter remains to be seen.
