Power Rankings are back with the top three having consolidated their positions in recent weeks.

Here are the 10 sides in our updated Power Rankings table.

10. Roma (🆕)

Roma return to our Power Rankings after a huge win for I Giallorossi. Matias Soule’s goal secured a 1-0 win at former league leaders Inter Milan, extending Roma’s unbeaten league run to 18 games. The capital club were 15th in the table in early December but have rose to sixth under the management of the wily Claudio Ranieri. Just two points separate Roma from the Champions League places.

9. Newcastle United (No change)

Newcastle got back to business at the weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Ipswich. Goals from Alexander Isak, Dan Burn and William Osula sealed the points and condemned Ipswich to relegation.

The Magpies are third in the table and targeting their highest Premier League finish since 2002/03 (3rd).

8. Arsenal (👎 Last week: 6)

Arsenal’s season is in real danger of ending with nothing.

Their fading title dream officially ended at the weekend and a full focus on their Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain failed to deliver the required result. A 1-0 defeat at the Emirates leaves the Gunners with a huge task to progress.

7. Inter Milan (👎 Last week: 5)

Inter Milan’s grip on the Scudetto is loosening after defeat at home to Roma last weekend. The loss was Inter’s third consecutive reverse in all competitions, the first time the Nerazzurri have endured such run since 2017.

Simeone Inzaghi’s side issued a fine response in midweek, after a thrilling six-goal draw at Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final. With the return at the San Siro next week, it’s arguably advantage Inter.

6. Real Madrid (👎 Last week: 4)

Real Madrid failed in their quest to end Barcelona’s treble dream after an extra-time defeat to their arch-rivals in the Copa del Rey final.

Los Blancos looked on course for silverware after goals from Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni cancelled out Pedri’s opener, but Ferran Torres equalised to force the added period.

Heartbreak was confirmed when Jules Kounde smashed home on 116 minutes, with red cards for Antonio Rudiger and Lucas Vazquez in the final seconds showing the frustration.

5. Manchester City (👍 Last week: 10)

After a season of setbacks, Mancehster City are on the rise again. It’s six wins in seven games for Pep Guardiola’s side, who have an FA Cup final to look forward to after beating Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Goals from Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol booked a final date with Crystal Palace, and a challenging campaign will conclude with a Wembley showdown.

4. Bayern Munich (👍 Last week: 8)

Bayern Munich are almost there. After being dethroned last season for the first time in over a decade, Bayern are one win from reclaiming the Bundesliga.

Vincent Kompany’s side made light work of Champions League-chasing Mainz at the weekend, as goals from former Premier League alumni Leroy Sane, Michael Olise and Eric Dier did the damage.

Bayern are eight points clear with three games to go and, almost certainly, set to be champions again.

3. Liverpool (No change)

It’s official, Liverpool are champions of England again.

Liverpool’s coronation has been inevitable for some time but the party can now get in full swing. Sunday’s celebrations at Anfield were 35 years in the making, with the club’s 2019/20 title success won behind closed doors. Now, the Reds are keen to make up for it.

2. Paris Saint-Germain (No change)

Paris Saint-Germain’s bid to become French football’s first Invincibles fell at the 31st hurdle.

Perhaps with one eye on Europe, the Ligue 1 champions were beaten 3-1 at home by Nice. Luis Enrique’s side won the clash that most mattered, however, edging out Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates. A place in the Champions League final is within touching distance.

1. Barcelona (No change)

Barcelona have claimed the first leg of a potential treble, beating Real Madrid 3-2 in an engrossing Copa del Rey final. Jules Kounde was the unlikely match-winner as the French full-back thundered in in extra time.

Their Champions League semi-final with Inter is also perfectly poised. An all-time classic ended 3-3 in Catalonia, ahead of next week’s return at the San Siro.

Hansi Flick will be confident, though the Catalans need to tighten up at the back.
