Looking at this Newcastle team v Everton.

Eddie Howe and his players looking to build on that excellent performance and result against Manchester City.

Which was then followed by progress into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon.

Victory at Goodison Park would send United into the international break in very good shape.

So what can we expect the Newcastle team v Everton to be?

As a starting point, this was the Newcastle team v AFC Wimbledon:

Dubravka, Livramento, Krafth, Schar, Kelly, Joelinton, Willock, Longstaff, Barnes, Osula, Almiron

Eddie Howe gave an injury and availability update on Friday morning.

The Head Coach saying Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman and Lewis Miley are all still unavailable.

Eddie Howe adding that Martin Dubravka was also a doubt after having been forced off against AFC Wimbledon with a knee injury.

In better news, the NUFC boss said that he expected Trippier and Pope to be fine after having missed the midweek cup match. Schar as well ok despite getting a knock on the ankle against the League Two side.

Having used his squad and made eight changes for that AFC Wimbledon match, had any of those eight done enough to force their way into the team that did so well against Man City?

As a reminder, these were the eleven that started against Manchester City last Saturday – Pope, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall, Joelinton, Bruno, Tonali, Barnes, Gordon, Jacob Murphy)

Anyway, my take on all of this after the above, my best guesstimate of the Newcastle team v Everton is:

Pope, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall, Joelinton, Bruno, Tonali, Barnes, Gordon, Jacob Murphy

So that would make it eight changes from the AFC Wimbledon match.

It would also mean the exact same eleven who started against Man City.

Difficult to think anybody who came into the team on Tuesday night, did enough to convince Eddie Howe to play them today.

I suppose Livramento played ok and Eddie Howe seems set to use both him and Trippier plenty of times this season, so possibly that position the most difficult to call.

Bottom line as well is that the Newcastle starting eleven did so well against Man City, so why not go with that line-up at Goodison Park?
