A couple of the Blades' key midfielders could be the next key stars to leave Bramall Lane in the coming windows.

Chris Wilder has a very talented Sheffield United squad at his disposal after a productive summer transfer window.

The club saw Cameron Archer, Jayden Bogle, Will Osula and Auston Trusty leave the club during the summer window while the likes of George Baldock, John Egan, Wes Foderingham, Max Lowe, Oli McBurnie and Oliver Norwood left following the expiration of their contracts.

With all of these departures in mind, it's no surprise that several additions were made during the summer, with plenty of these signings having a lot of Championship experience.

Some of the Blades' summer arrivals could be sold on for a very decent amount in the future, including Callum O'Hare, who is unlikely to have reached his peak years yet at just 26.

22-year-old Harrison Burrows is another player who could make United a healthy profit if he can replicate what he did at Peterborough United during his time at Bramall Lane.

Former Plymouth Argyle shot-stopper Michael Cooper is another talented young player and it will be interesting to see how the trio mentioned get on in the coming months.

Sheffield United's place in the English football food chain means that big-money departures are to be expected at some point as well. With that in mind, here are the two players that could bring in sizable fees soon...

1 Ollie Arblaster

Ollie Arblaster returned to the Blades in January after being recalled from his loan spell at Port Vale and he was given the opportunity to perform in the Premier League during the second half of last term.

United may have been poor last term and may have gone down with a whimper but the 12 appearances that Arblaster made would have been extremely valuable for him, coming into this season.

In terms of his contributions this term, he scored with a heavily deflected shot against Preston North End on the opening night of the season, and he also scored an excellent goal against Norwich City to secure a point at Carrow Road.

At just 20 and having been given the captain's armband on numerous occasions, it's clear that he's highly rated at Bramall Lane and it's a shame that an injury has prevented him from winning more time on the pitch.

Having attracted interest from Brighton recently, it will only be a matter of time before there's more interest in his signature if he can continue to shine after recovering from his injury.

The Seagulls are willing to pay more than £20m for him, according to The Sun, so it will be interesting to see whether they launch an attractive offer for him during the winter window.

2 Gus Hamer

Gus Hamer has been a real threat from midfield since his move to England, shining for Coventry City and deservedly earning a move to the top level with the Blades last summer.

United may have gone down at the end of last term, but Hamer made some valuable contributions in the final third during the 2023/24 campaign and has also made an excellent start to this season.

Registering four goals and one assist during his opening six league games of the campaign, the former Netherlands youth international has played a big part in United's decent start to the term.

Leeds United had a bid rejected for him during the summer and United had the license to reject that offer, with the midfielder still having just under three years left on his contract.

Next summer, when he may only have two years left on his deal, that could be the time when United cash in on him.
