Martijn Kaars is ready to take the next step in his career with Premier League and Championship clubs interested in signing the 2. Bundesliga striker, according to Bild.
The Dutchman has scored 18 goals and created six in 32 league games for 2. Bundesliga side Magdeburg this season which has naturally attracted interest from overseas clubs. As well as Premier League and Championship clubs, Bundesliga teams also have their sights on Kaars.
Speaking to Bild, Kaars also hinted that he’s ready to take the next step in his career. “After a season like this at 26, it’s logical that I want to take the next step. Now would be the right moment but I don’t know anything yet. I’m waiting for the summer.”
Kaars has a contract until 2027 has hold a €4m market value, according to Transfermarkt. It’s the player’s first season in Germany having joined from Keuken Kampioen Divisie side Helmond Sport in the summer for €800k after scoring 21 goals in 38 appearances.
“German football suits me very well,” added Kaars. “The Bundesliga would therefore be a natural fit for me, but I’m open to all discussions.”
