There will be a tribute to Liverpool's Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in all games on the opening weekend of the Premier League.
Each of the 10 games will begin after a minute of silence in honour of the two Portuguese players, who tragically passed away this summer in a road accident. All players will also wear black armbands.
Last Sunday, a similar tribute took place, which included several wreaths, at the Community Shield match between the Reds and Crystal Palace (in which the Eagles won 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw). The minute of silence caused some controversy due to shouts from the Eagles' fans, which in turn led to some booing.
The 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off this Friday at 20:00, with reigning champions Liverpool hosting Bournemouth.
