Manchester United’s right wing problems are expected to be a thing of the past this season especially following the emergence of Amad Diallo.

The Ivorian was one of the standout stars towards the end of last season, playing a huge part in the club’s FA Cup triumph last term.

His United career was seemingly fizzling out when he suffered a pre-season injury after a hugely promising loan spell at Sunderland two seasons ago.

But credit to the former Atalanta starlet for fighting his way back and eventually proving his worth by scoring winners against Liverpool in the FA Cup and Newcastle in the Premier League.

11th hour hijack attempt for Amad

Erik ten Hag has already tipped the 22-year-old to finally prove his worth this season and he has already shown flashes of his genius in the first two games and in pre-season.

His current United deal ends in 2025 with the club having the option to extend it by a year. As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, the club are in the middle of trying to agree a new deal with the Ivory Coast international.

According to CaughtOffside, three English top-flight teams are preparing to swoop for Amad before deadline day and that is why INEOS are prioritising a new deal for the left-footed winger.

“According to CaughtOffside sources, one of the next pieces of business that the club want to get done is to extend Amad Diallo’s contract.

“It’s understood that the club sees great potential in the 21-year-old winger and although he’s only shown flashes of his brilliance thus far, he is considered a valuable asset and part of the club’s long-term plans.

“With sources also indicating that all of Ipswich Town, Southampton and Everton are preparing to swoop for Diallo, United are keen to secure him for the foreseeable future as soon as practicable.”

EtH has faith in Amad

Such rumours had more weight last season when the player’s place in the hierarchy at United was not set in stone.

But ahead of the new campaign, Ten Hag has already assured the Abidjan-born star of his place in his plans, with the forward starting in both games so far ahead of the likes of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony.

The player’s exit to join one of the aforementioned trio is highly unlikely. All three are expected to be in a relegation dogfight, not the best place for a youngster to blossom.

Amad needs to give it his all in the matches to come to ensure he makes it at The Theatre of Dreams. He already has revealed his desire to stay at the club for his entire career and the club are looking likely to extend his stay for the foreseeable future.
