Prestianni backed by agent after Vinícius Júnior racism allegation in Benfica v Real Madrid | OneFootball

Gianluca Prestianni has been defended by his representative after Vinícius Júnior alleged he used racist language during Benfica’s match against Real Madrid.

According to Glorioso 1904, agent Gaston Fernández said players often cover their mouths when speaking to opponents. He suggested that moving from such images to an act of racism could allow others to seek advantage, particularly with a global figure like Vinícius.

Fernández added that he believes and trusts the 20-year-old’s professionalism and conduct at elite level. He urged fairness and said only Prestianni and Vinícius know what was said.

UEFA has opened an investigation and appointed an ethics inspector.

For now, nothing prevents Prestianni from being available for the Champions League second leg at the Bernabéu.
