Preston climb to third as Storey and Jebbison strike at Oxford

Preston North End won 2-1 at Oxford United to rise from fifth to third in the Championship at the Kassam Stadium.
In the 26th minute, Jordan Storey glanced in from Thierry Small's cross after a corner to put the visitors ahead. After the restart, Daniel Jebbison doubled the lead (49.) from Alfie Devine's pass before Brian De Keersmaecker whipped a reply into the top left from range (53.).
Oxford United's pressure mounted as Will Lankshear hit the bar from a Stanley Mills cross (69.). Daniel Iversen then preserved the advantage with a string of stops, finishing with six saves.
Oxford United registered 23 attempts and had 54.8% possession as they chased an equaliser. Preston produced eight attempts and made 50 clearances in a resilient defensive display.
Oxford United visit Charlton Athletic next in the Championship. Preston host Norwich City.
