Rangers return to Europa League action hoping to bounce back from their Scottish League cup loss against rivals Celtic.

Danny Röhl will look to put their 3-1 loss against Celtic in the cup semi-final behind them as they welcome AS Roma to Ibrox.

They are currently fourth in the Scottish Premiership; they come into the Europa League fixture on the back of a 1-0 win over Hiberian, while their fixture against Aberdeen was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Rangers have struggled with inconsistency all season, but prior to that, they’ve lost their last six continental fixtures.

In the Europa League they sit bottom of the league phase table after a poor start to their campaign.

So far Rangers have lost 1-0 to Genk, 3-0 to Brann and 2-1 to Sturm Graz and are still searching for their first win in the competition.

The side will be without Dujon Sterling and Rabbi Matondo due to injuries.

Meanwhile, visitors Roma have won seven of their last 10 matches despite coming out on top in only one of their European matches, against Nice.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are performing well in Serie A and have won three of their last five matches.

They gained wins over Fiorentina, Sassuolo and Parma while suffering losses over both sides from Milan.

In the Europa League, they have losses against Lille and Viktoria Plzen, and are currently 23rd in the league phase table.

Roma last met a Scottish team in April 1984 where lost 2-0 against Dundee, but still won 3-2 on aggregate in the European Cup semi-finals.

That means this will be the first time the sides have met in the Europa League and both teams will be vying for a win.

Roma will be without Evan Ferguson after he picked up a thigh injury in the match against Parma.

The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports 3 in the UK and will kick-off at 8pm GMT at Ibrox.
