Valencia will welcome Villarreal to the Estadio de Mestalla following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Alavés.

The Yellow Submarines are winless in their last four La Liga matches, with their only victory this season coming against Athletic Bilbao, a 2-0 win last month.

They currently sit 14th in the table on nine points and will look to climb out of the bottom half in Saturday’s local derby.

Valencia have a strong home record against Villarreal, winning 18 of their last 30 encounters, compared to six victories for the visitors. The home side will be without centre-back Mouctar Diakhaby and left-winger Largie Ramazani due to muscle injuries.

Villarreal return to league action after a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday. Marcelino Toral’s side are currently third in La Liga with 17 points from nine matches.

The visitors have conceded in each of their last five away games and drew 2-2 against Real Betis in their most recent league outing. Their last league win was a 2-0 home victory over Athletic Bilbao, following a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid.

Historically, Valencia and Villarreal have met 50 times in La Liga, with Villarreal winning 21, Valencia 18, and 11 ending in draws.

The match will be broadcast live on Disney+ and Premier Sports in the UK, with a kick-off time of 20:00 [GMT].
