West Bromwich welcome Derby County to The Hawthorns on Saturday in the Championship.
The Baggies are looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season to five matches and head into the weekend sitting second in the table after an impressive opening run.
Derby, meanwhile, endured a close brush with relegation last term, surviving by just a single point. They’ve had another slow start this year, with only two points from a possible 12, leaving them near the wrong end of the table once again.
That said, the Rams have already got one over on Albion this season, having knocked them out of the Carabao Cup, and they’ll be eager to spoil the party on what promises to be a big afternoon at The Hawthorns.
AllAlbionFans (AllAlbionFans): Another Midland Derby Day this weekend after beating Stoke City (A) last time out.
The Potters are a team we seem to have a hoodoo against but this time we come across our own achilles heel in Derby County.
Price, Styles and Mepham have had good international breaks while Heggebo made his debut for Norway.
It feels harsh but with Styles being away it could be the opportunity to put new signing Charlie Taylor straight in at Left Back. There’s no room for sentiment and although Styles has done well generally I think Taylor will end up making LB his own. With Boro and Leicester next we want the defence at its peak ASAP.
The Rams have scored in every game so far both in league and cup so a clean sheet will be tough. We have 2 in 4 so far in the league. The team isn’t stacked with goalscorers.
Something has to give for us to walk away with the 3 points. With Middlesbrough at Preston, a win should put us top of the league.
Prediction: 2-1
Cory Hancock (Rams Review Podcast): The international break has allowed the Rams time to rest, recovery and heal ahead of their match against West Brom. Derby's injuries are getting better and it won't be long before manager John Eustace has a full complement of players to choose from.
Derby have been pretty poor to start the season. Performances have been well below par. Hopefully some time away from the action can reset the minds of the players and the season for The Rams.
This will be Derby's second trip to The Hawthorns this season, they won on penalties in the League Cup but were terribly poor throughout.
Carlton Morris has been a shining light in this team. The striker has already scored four goals. Derby need him to keep firing. I'd expect the defense to be much better after the break.
West Brom are second in the league and will be a difficult team to beat at home. I'm normally upbeat about the Rams chances, however, I expect a win for the Baggies.
Prediction: 2-0
