Achraf Hakimi looked back on PSG's first Champions League triumph.
In an interview with Canal+, Achraf Hakimi reflected on PSG's success in the Champions League during the 2024-2025 campaign. A paradise-like dream that still lingers in his mind.
"If you had told me a year ago that PSG would win the Champions League, would I have believed it? Yes. Since I arrived in Paris, my goal has been to win the Champions League, to make history with Paris. Today, we've done it. But when Luis Enrique was appointed, we saw the work he was putting in, we saw the ideas he wanted to implement. The previous season, we reached the semi-finals. I knew this year would be better. He had more time to work. The coach said the team's main strength is the group itself. If someone leaves, the team will remain strong. We stayed together, united to keep following the coach's ideas. That's what we've shown up to now." the Moroccan revealed.
Hakimi also revisited some of the season's key matches. The clash against Manchester City in the Champions League left a lasting impression on him. "Against Manchester City. I think that was the most important match of the season for us. We pulled off an incredible comeback. It gave the whole team a huge boost. It showed that if we could do that against a team like Manchester City, we could do it against anyone. That match changed something in our minds. We showed our character and performed superbly. Out on the pitch, we could hear the fans supporting us, singing louder to push us forward. We told ourselves: 'Let's go for it. We're down two-nil, let's attack, let's try to turn this game around.' I think we managed to do just that." he explained.
