PSG are facing growing uncertainty in goal, and LOSC Lille’s Lucas Chevalier is starting to look like a potential long-term answer. The 23-year-old French keeper has attracted serious interest as the summer transfer window heats up.

Gianluigi Donnarumma remains under contract until 2026, but questions about his future persist as he and PSG have yet to agree on a contract extension. Despite the ongoing uncertainty, ESPN FC reported that Donnarumma wants to remain in Paris, though Manchester United and Inter Milan are closely monitoring his situation.

Nonetheless, it appears the reigning European champions are looking at alternatives. According to a previous report from L’Équipe, Chevalier could be an option for PSG if Donnarumma doesn’t sign a new deal.

PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos sees the French goalkeeper as an ideal replacement should the Italian move on. That said, Chevalier is happy at Lille and isn’t in a hurry to leave, with a contract extension also still on the table.

L’Équipe reported Saturday that the club has advanced its pursuit of the LOSC goalkeeper, who is under contract until 2027.

Talks over a five-year deal began several days ago, and Chevalier has already reached a broad agreement with PSG. Only minor details remain between the two clubs as negotiations with Lille are now expected to begin.

PSG are well aware of what lies ahead — club president Olivier Létang is known for being firm when it comes to selling top players. A deal is expected to cost at least €40 million, a figure PSG have already reviewed internally and are ready to meet.

ESPN recently reported that Aston Villa have reached out to LOSC Lille about a potential move for Chevalier. The Frenchman is considered a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is exploring a move away from the club. Nonetheless, it seems as though Aston Villa will be missing out.
