Next week, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in one of the most eagerly-anticipated matches for some time. However, the lead-up to the Champions League showdown has been marred by injury issues for both sides.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Barcelona will be without Joan Garcia and Raphinha for the league phase clash at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, while Gavi and Fermin Lopez will also be missing for the Catalans. However, it is also PSG that are struggling, and two more problems have now struck for the reigning European champions.
Luis Enrique will already be without Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos and Joao Neves for his return to Catalonia, while Fabian Ruiz and Desire Doue are considered to be doubtful. But now injuries have befallen key duo Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as per Diario AS.

Both players suffered blows during PSG’s Ligue 1 victory over Auxerre. As things stand, it is not known whether they will be able to face Barcelona next week, and Luis Enrique is not particularly confident of having them available, as he stated to the media post-match (via Diario AS).
“I can’t say anything, because it’s not a positive thing. But we have to wait for what the medical staff says this Sunday or Monday to know what types of injuries both have.
“You always have to be positive. It’s a shame to have injuries before the game before Barcelona. Both teams have five-six injured players who will not be able to play. It’s also a shame for Hansi Flick and for the fans of both teams.”
It would certainly be a shame for more top quality players to be missing next week, although Barcelona would certainly not begrudge PSG being without the likes of Dembele, Vitinha and Kvaratskhelia.
