Xavi Simons and Paris Saint-Germain made a short-term decision to loan him out again to RB Leipzig for another season. Next summer, though, the Parisians are expected to make a long-term decision via a transfer sale.
This month, journalist Christian Falk revealed that Manchester City and Liverpool are closely monitoring Simons’ situation. Over the summer, the rising star attracted interest from major clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United.
Recently, Falk also noted that Liverpool and Manchester United have an advantage, considering they have Dutch managers at the helm, which could make a transition easy for the 21-year-old.
Nonetheless, whoever wins this race will have to pay a significant amount. According to reports from Tutto Juve (h/t Foot01), three Premier League giants—Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United—are particularly keen on signing him next summer, with the potential transfer fee expected to exceed €100 million.
PSG could be in for a financial boost unless they can convince the Dutch playmaker to stay in the French capital. Juventus has also been linked to Simons in recent months, but given the caliber of clubs involved and the hefty price tag the Parisians will likely demand, the Italian side is now out of the running.
The race will come down to Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and PSG as they battle it out to secure Simons’ services for the 2025-2026 season. No matter what, the French giants stand to gain, as the former Barcelona youth product is set to bring in a significant sum if he chooses to move on.
