Gianluigi Donnarumma (25) is not serene in his position as Paris Saint-Germain’s No.1. The arrival of Matvey Safonov (25) in the summer threatened his place between the sticks with the Russian featuring more regularly towards the end of 2024. A bigger threat may be on the horizon, as Sports Zone report.
2024 was an excellent year for Lille OSC’s Lucas Chevalier (23), who not only shone in Europe, confirming his status as one of the most promising up-and-coming goalkeepers on the continent but also broke into the France set-up for the first time, although he is yet to make his debut for Les Bleus.
Sports Zone understands that Chevalier is now a target for PSG, who see him as a replacement for Donnarumma, who has not fully convinced Luis Enrique and his technical staff of his capacity to be No.1 for an elite-level side. If the Lille goalkeeper is to join, the incumbent No.1, Donnarumma, would have to leave.
However, Les Parisiens may face some serious competition from Premier League clubs, according to Sports Zone.
