In an official statement on their social media, Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that a player of their squad has suffered an attack of malaria. The player in question is Yoram Zague (18) who has now been excluded from the squad and is resting away from the squad for 10 days while he receives treatment and recovers.

Under the management of Luis Enrique last season, Zague made his professional debut for Les Parisiens. The left-back went on to make 5 appearances in Ligue 1 for PSG including 4 starts in the French top flight. The 18-year-old also scored his first professional goal for the Ligue 1 champions in a 2-1 victory against Nice last term.

Set to stay

L’Équipe report that PSG are counting on Zague to play a major part for them next season. Several players are currently training away from the Les Parisiens first team as Luis Campos and the board have informed them that their future lies away from the Parc des Princes. One of these players is fellow left-back Juan Bernat creating a space at left back within Luis Enrique’s squad.
