PSG seek versatile defender with Lucas Digne set for three-year deal | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning double European champions, are pressing on with a partial defensive reshuffle alongside their sizeable attacking rebuild.

According to L'ÉEquipe, Lucas Digne, 33, capped 64 times by France and formerly of Aston Villa, has passed his medical and is set to sign a three-year deal as cover for Nuno Mendes.

Another reinforcement is expected, with Luis Campos and his staff having drawn up a shortlist. The target is a right-footed centre-back who can also fill in at right-back, to ease the load on Hakimi and Zaïre-Emery.

During pre-season, Luis Enrique will also have academy options. David Boly, developed as a centre-back but often used at full-back for the U19s and Espoirs, is in the group. Dimitri Lucea, primarily a central defender, started at left-back against Paris FC on 17 May.

The objective is to deepen defensive cover while keeping positional flexibility across the back line. It runs alongside, not instead of, the club's attacking rebuild.
