A recent comment from Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has once again highlighted the growing respect that Barcelona’s style of football commands across Europe.
Vitinha is currently enjoying the best period of his career at Paris Saint-Germain. At just 25 years old, the Portuguese international has firmly established himself as PSG’s midfield conductor and creative engine.
Speaking to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Vitinha reflected on the kind of football that continues to inspire him.
“Joao (Neves) – his teammate in PSG’s midfield – and I love having the ball at our feet, being creative and playing as we did as children,” he said.
From there, Vitinha had no doubts when pointing to the players who best embody this spirit today.

He singled out footballers capable of turning matches into moments of pure emotion and beauty.
“People will always look at players like Lamine Yamal, Dembele, or Pedri. People will always go to the stadium to watch football because of players like them, because what they offer is beautiful to watch.”
Vitinha also allowed himself a moment of reflection about legacy and inspiration. Looking ahead to the end of his career, he referenced two icons who shaped an era at Barcelona.
“If Joao and I finish our careers and are placed on the same level as Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta, it would be fantastic,” he said.
For Barcelona, Vitinha’s words serve as external validation.
Even in an era of constant change, the club’s identity remains alive through players like Pedri and Lamine Yamal, footballers who remind the world why the game is meant to be enjoyed.
