Authorities are not especially concerned about security for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg between PSG and Liverpool at the Parc des Princes, according to L'Équipe.
There is no known dispute between the two sets of supporters, and the Division nationale de lutte contre le hooliganisme has rated the fixture level two out of five.
The Préfecture de Police has approved the visitors’ allocation at five per cent of the stadium, so 2,376 Liverpool fans are expected at the Porte de Saint-Cloud, a number often capped at 2,000 in recent European games. Some may travel to Paris without tickets.
As with every European night for the Paris club, officials remain alert to chance meetings in the city between rival groups. Last season a fight broke out in Pigalle involving Aston Villa followers on the eve of the first leg between the sides, which finished 3-1 on 9 April 2025.
To secure the event, the Préfecture de Police has requested five units of CRS or mobile gendarmes, with each unit comprising between 80 and 100 officers.
