PSG and Atalanta face off in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, with both teams eager to kick off the tournament with a win.
The home side are aiming to defend their crown as reigning champions, and Atalanta are determined to make an impact in Europe’s elite competition under new management this season.
The defending champions are currently grappling with a challenging injury situation ahead of their opener. During their 2-0 win against RC Lens on Sunday, PSG saw three players -Lee Kang-in, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Lucas Beraldo – forced off due to injuries.
Additionally, PSG are missing key forwards Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, both sidelined for several weeks. Dembélé faces an estimated six-week recovery from a thigh injury, and Doué is expected to be out until late September with a calf issue.
With limited attacking options, Ibrahim Mbaye, who came off the bench against Lens, is likely to start again if coach Luis Enrique opts for a front three, alongside Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos.
PSG Predicted XI: Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Barcola, Ramos, Mbaye.
Wednesday September 17th at 8pm BST.
