After a second consecutive Champions League win, there is no need to change too much at PSG.

But tweaks will be made to the team, and one of the more significant ones could be the departure of long-serving captain Marquinhos.

The 32 year old was available last summer, but ended up staying put. He now has a second Champions League medal to add to his collection. According to Get Football News France, it’s the same story again – he will be allowed to go if a reasonable offer comes in. The former Roma man has two years left on his current contract.

Marquinhos lines up a Middle Eastern swansong

Interest from the Middle East is expected, and L’Equipe claim that Qatar would tempt the Brazilian more than Saudi Arabia. But so far, nothing concrete has come up.

Illia Zabarnyi, Marquinhos’ replacement, has taken longer than expected to bed in, and it made sense to keep the veteran around this season. The Ukrainian needs to make some serious steps forward this summer – he’s got huge shoes to fill.

In other news…

Yan Diomande is wanted by a lot of teams this summer, and we’re very curious to see who ends up signing him. PSG have already held talks according to one insider.

Joao Neves had some strong comments for Arsenal after the final, accusing the Gunners of not having played football.
