Paris Saint-Germain travel to Aston Villa in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tonight.
PSG came from behind to seal a 3-1 win in the first meeting last week, with Nuno Mendes’ late goal providing the Parisians with a two-goal cushion. The French champions are bidding to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second straight season. The winners of this tie will face either Arsenal or Real Madrid in the last four.
Aston Villa bounced back from that defeat with a 3-0 win over already-relegated Southampton in the Premier League. Unai Emery’s side have won eight of their last nine games in all competitions – the exception last week’s reverse at the Parc des Princes.
Luis Enrique will welcome Marquinhos back into the PSG ranks this week. The PSG captain missed the first leg through suspension and should replace Lucas Beraldo at centre-back.
It’s otherwise unchanged for the French champions, who were not in domestic action at the weekend. Ousmane Dembele will again lead the line as the Frenchman builds his case for the Ballon d’Or. It’s 32 goals for the season in all competitions for Dembele in 2024/25.
Paris Saint-Germain predicted XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Pacho, Marquinhos, Mendes; Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz; Kvaratskhelia, Doue, Dembele.
Aston Villa host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday April 15th 2025. Kick-off at the Villa Park is 20:00 BST.
