According to a report from L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain’s move for Bournemouth centre-back Illia Zabarnyi (22) has currently stalled. Negotiations between the Premier League club and the UEFA Champions League winners are at a standstill.
For an agreement to be reached, it will require another financial push from Les Parisiens, L’Équipe understands. However, PSG are currently unwilling to meet the financial demands of the English club and Zabarnyi’s entourage in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old defender for next season.
The Ligue 1 champions have already secured a substantial windfall this summer through their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup. After reaching the final, PSG have secured €90m in prize money. If the capital club emerge victorious against Chelsea, this total will increase by a further €33.9m, and may force them to rethink their stance to secure the services of the Ukrainian international.
