Ruben Amorim has yet to find a winning recipe at Manchester United, and Micah Richards reveals his predictions over the club’s transfer plans between January and the summer.
The 39-year-old initially had a decent start to life at Old Trafford, picking up wins over the likes of Everton and Viktoria Plzen. But as the manager himself had envisioned, it didn’t take too long for the storm to blow away the team that is apparently built on a shaky foundation.
The Red Devils have lost their last three matches in a row across all competitions, with Amorim becoming the first manager to lose five of his first 10 outings at the club since 1932, as the team currently wanders 14th in the Premier League table.
At this point, it is painfully obvious that the Portuguese manager doesn’t possess the right players to interpret his favorite 3-4-2-1 formation which is keen to maintain at all costs.
Hence, Man Utd are in dire need of a squad overhaul. So will the management oblige and provide Amorim with players suitable for his playing style?

According to Richards, the hierarchy has no other option but to bring in at least five or six players, although the head coach will have to wait until the summer, as a January revamp remains implausible.
“I don’t think he’s going to get the players that he wants in January,” said the former Man City defender (via the Mirror).
“But I think in the summer we’re going to see five or six players come in.”
Therefore, it remains to be seen how Amorim will navigate with the current crop until the end of the season, knowing that the club has been hitting new lows.
One would suggest that the Portuguese must first consolidate his role and avoid getting sacked, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe can be quick to wield the axe, as Dan Ashworth discovered earlier this month.
