The defender reached a new milestone on Saturday, by opening his account for the club with a first-half stoppage-time strike, which would prove to be the final nail in Leicester's coffin.

After the victory over Cifuentes' Foxes, Mbengue was interviewed on the pitch along with teammate Dembele, and it's fair to say you could feel the delight radiating through the screen after the Senegalese right-back scored his first goal for the club.

In the footage posted to X, Mbengue can be seen showing a heart sign to the fans, before he says: "It's unbelievable, I couldn't wait for this moment. Even when I'm at home, I said to my wife, I can't wait to score my first goal at Loftus Road."

It had been a difficult start to the season for new head coach Stephan and his team, but the R's have certainly hit form as of late, and now have both eyes set on a play-off place, having moved within a point of the top six.

The mood around Loftus Road is clearly high, and Mbengue's post-match interview certainly echoed that sentiment, with fans taking to X to react to the video of their defender's joy after scoring his first goal for his new club.

"Never thought I could love Mbengue more," said one delighted fan in response to the video.

"Mbengue is just pure vibes," said another.

Another chimed in saying, "Crazy how much I love this man [Mbengue]."

"Mbengue, so funny man," said another.

It's clear to see that the defender is a hit at Loftus Road since his summer move from Reading, and he's even found a home as a right-back under Julien Stephan, swapping places with Jimmy Dunne, who has returned to his more natural position of centre-back.
