Questions arise about pricing as many tickets remain unsold for Milan-Liverpool

AC Milan will kick off their Champions League campaign in just over a week, taking on Liverpool at San Siro, but the tickets haven’t exactly been flying off the shelf. The poor start to the season combined with high prices has raised some questions.

In the last few years, the Champions League ticket pricing has often been at the centre of debates as Milan tend to charge more for these games. Although season ticket holders get a discounted price, this is not the case for the rest and this makes going to a game rather expensive.

Taking a look at the game against Liverpool, which still has plenty of tickets left despite going on sale on Friday morning, a ticket in the ‘Secondo Rosso’ section costs €139 a piece. A ticket in the same section costs just €59 for the upcoming Venezia game, which is a huge difference.

In the ‘Primo Verde’ section, which is the dedicated family section, a ticket costs €129 a piece for the Liverpool game and one must question the pricing here. After all, a family of three or four usually doesn’t have a spare €387/€516 to spend on ONE game.

The poor start to the season hasn’t exactly helped either, it must be said, but one was hoping for a bit more reasonable prices.
