Racing Santander are preparing for one of the biggest nights in their recent history, with everything pointing towards an intense atmosphere at El Sardinero when FC Barcelona arrive for the Copa del Rey clash.
The message from Santander is that the stadium must become a stronghold if Racing are to stand any chance of eliminating the reigning Copa del Rey holders.
The club expects El Sardinero to be completely dominated by green and white, after selling almost all available tickets exclusively to season ticket holders.
As per Mundo Deportivo, this strategy was adopted to create a hostile environment for Barcelona and give Racing every possible edge on the pitch.
Out of the total stadium capacity, only 460 tickets were allocated to the Blaugrana, meaning the remaining 21,848 seats will, in principle, be occupied by supporters backing the home side.
Among Racing’s fanbase, there is a shared belief that this match must feel different, louder, and more intense than a regular fixture.
That feeling is especially strong among the club’s more than 18,000 season ticket holders.

Supporters are fully aware of the scale of the challenge ahead, facing a Barcelona side that recently lifted the Spanish Super Cup.
The sense of unity has also brought warnings from Racing’s most passionate supporters.
La Gradona de los Malditos, the club’s organised fan group, has taken a strong stance to protect the atmosphere they want to create.
The group has publicly stated that some individuals have attempted to resell tickets, a move they see as a direct threat to the identity of the stand.
As a result, the fan group issued a message explaining the consequences for those who break the rules.
“In addition, anyone wearing any insignia of a team other than Racing, celebrating or cheering on the rival club, will be expelled from the stands.
“There are rules at La Gradona and they must be followed. Only Racing is cheered on and only Racing clothing is worn. If this is not the case, this stand is not the place for you,” they warned.
