Paris Saint-Germain showed their Champions League pedigree once again as Gonçalo Ramos struck in the dying moments to seal a 2-1 win away to Barcelona.
The holders travelled to Catalonia missing a host of key names - including Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and captain Marquinhos - and their task looked even tougher when Ferran Torres slid home Marcus Rashford’s cross in the 19th minute. The goal capped a lively start for Barça, with Lamine Yamal also threatening down the right.
Despite their slow opening, PSG settled into the game and began to look dangerous on the counter. Nuno Mendes was the catalyst for their equaliser, driving from deep before picking out teenager Senny Mayulu, who coolly levelled with a left-footed strike just before half-time.
The second half saw chances at both ends, but PSG looked sharper in the final third. Bradley Barcola squandered two good opportunities, and Lee Kang-in rattled the post as Luis Enrique’s side pushed for a winner.
With time running out, Barcelona’s high defensive line was finally punished. Achraf Hakimi burst into space on the right and squared for Ramos, who made no mistake with a clinical first-time finish in the 90th minute.
The late blow silenced the home crowd and sent PSG home with back-to-back victories to start their league phase campaign. Barcelona, meanwhile, were left to reflect on a missed opportunity and remain stuck on three points.
