Rangers’ horrific records get worse as Rohl beats Martin

The grim picture for Rangers took an even more sordid turn last night after Roma rather comfortably dispatched Danny Röhl’s men. The utterly depressing stats, which have plagued Rangers for a long time, have even worsened now after yet another defeat at the hands of the Italians.
The two new, earth-shattering stats are beyond ridiculous and are worthy of being binned, but unfortunately cannot be. The first depressing notion is, of course, the chronic, brand-new record achieved by Rangers in having lost seven European matches in a row for the first time in the club’s entire history.
To suggest this is embarrassing is not doing it enough justice, but unfortunately, it technically gets even worse than that. Danny Röhl has now officially beaten Russell Martin already.
He has a 40% win record, but every other result is a loss. Martin won two of his first matches, has as well a 40% win record, but the rest were draws, and yes, they included Champions League matches.
So it’s safe to say that Danny Röhl is actually, despite what many fans might think, worse than Russell Martin at this point. That a manager could be worse than the worst manager Rangers have had really does tell its own story.
Supporters will blame Kevin Thelwell, and that is understandable, but the fact is that Röhl is absolutely diabolical. We did warn that a Sheffield Wednesday coach really wasn’t in his element at Rangers.
We don’t dislike him the way that we did Martin, but he is no better. He is in fact worse. So whether you like him or not, whether you are a happy clapper who will endlessly support and quote-unquote see improvement, the results do not back that up.
Röhl has shattered all records at Rangers, is technically worse than Martin, and Rangers are only getting deeper and deeper into the mire. It just doesn’t end.
