Rangers kick off their UEFA Europa League campaign at home this week as they welcome Genk to Ibrox on Thursday night.

On the back of a disappointing Champions League qualifier exit and a poor run of form, the Gers are determined to turn their fortunes around and build momentum following a challenging start to the season.

Rangers vs Genk – Predicted lineups and team news

Rangers team news

The home side will be without right-back Max Aarons, who is unavailable due to suspension after being sent off in the Champions League play-off against Club Brugge. In his stead, skipper James Tavernier is set to slot in at right-back.

Long-term injuries continue to hinder Rangers, with Dujon Sterling sidelined by an Achilles problem that will keep him out until at least next year, while Rabbi Matondo also remains out.

In more encouraging news for manager Russell Martin, Joe Rothwell has overcome a minor injury and returns to the squad to face Genk, having missed the recent cup win over Hibernian.

Bojan Miovski, who netted his first goal for the club in the League Cup victory against Hibs, is set to spearhead the attack. He will likely be supported in the advanced roles by Mikey Moore, Thelo Aasgaard and Djeidi Gassama, while Nicolas Raskin is fit and available for selection.

Rangers predicted lineup

Possible Rangers starting XI: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Cornelius, Meghoma; Diomande, Raskin; Moore, Aasgaard, Gassama; Miovski.

When does the match kick off?

The game will begin at 8pm BST on Thursday, 25th September at Ibrox in Glasgow, Scotland.
