Barcelona sealed their La Liga title with a 2-0 win over Espanyol, and while Raphinha was not at his best on the night, the Brazilian still walked away with his second league trophy.

Speaking after the match, he was honest about both the team’s journey and his individual performance.

“It’s my second league title, and I hope it’s not the last,” Raphinha said. “The key was focusing on ourselves. We didn’t need to think about Madrid or what others were doing. If we focus on our own work, we improve our chances. That is what we did.”

The Brazilian winger did not shy away from criticising his display either. “We knew we had a very poor first half, but we were better in the second half. Individually, it was one of my worst matches this season.”

Raphinha also spoke about the team’s difficult spell earlier in the campaign. “In December, people said we were finished. That we would be lucky to fight for third. But we never lost faith. It was in our hands, and we’ve done it.”

Fermin Lopez, who scored the second goal against Espanyol, could not hide his joy after winning his first league title with Barcelona’s first team.

“We’ve reached our goal. We worked hard for this, and we deserve it. Today’s goal made up for the one they disallowed against Madrid,” said the young midfielder.

Fermin took a moment to appreciate the guidance of coach Hansi Flick. “He hasn’t even spoken to us yet as we are too busy celebrating. But he’s been a huge part of this success. This has always been my dream.”

With smiles all around, he confirmed that the team planned to enjoy the moment. “Of course, we’re going to celebrate. We’re not tired yet.”

Barcelona’s triumph was not just about individual brilliance, it was built on unity, hard work, and belief.
