Rayan Cherki and Eli Junior Kroupi shortlisted for Premier League Young Player award

The Premier League announced on Thursday an eight-player shortlist for Young Player of the Season, featuring Rayan Cherki and Eli Junior Kroupi.

France international Cherki, of Manchester City, is in contention for the 2025-26 prize for players aged 21 or under.

The former Lyon player has settled quickly under Pep Guardiola, producing 4 goals and 12 assists, the second-highest assist tally this season. Team-mate Nico O'Reilly is also included.

At 19, Bournemouth forward Kroupi has been outstanding since the start of 2026, scoring 12 times. He is the first under-20 to net more than 10 Premier League goals since Robbie Fowler in 1993-94. Alex Scott also makes the list.

Fans can vote for the Young Player award until Monday 18 May at 13:00. Public votes account for half of the result, with an expert panel providing the other half.
