RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of Dutch youth forward Ayodele Thomas from PSV Eindhoven on a contract running until 2031. His announcement came after Leipzig unveiled Brighton attacker Brajan Gruda on loan earlier in the day.
According to Sky Germany, PSV received a €400,000 fee and a three percent sell-on clause. Gruda’s loan contains no purchase option and Brighton received a €one million loan fee.
Leipzig have recruited with the future in mind, adding 18-year-old Thomas alongside 19-year-old Suleiman Sani and 20-year-old Abdoul Koné. Thomas has featured only for PSV’s reserves this season. Koné will link up after the season.
Thomas is viewed as a quick, tricky and agile winger with a direct goal threat and a decisive final ball, seen as a clear fit for Leipzig’s style.
He will be given time to settle following his arrival. Thomas expressed delight at joining, pointing to Leipzig’s record with young players and his aim to show what he can do in the Bundesliga.
